Martin Scorsese’s 27 year old project which he considers as “obsession” was premiered at Vatican on Tuesday with the presence of 400 priests. The film namesd “Silence” is based on story of 17th-century Jesuit missionaries in Japan. There was no red carpet, and almost certainly none of the usual glamour. A two-minute trailer released this week suggested a film of much anguish and violence. It has already been tipped as an Oscar contender.
